Not all changes would cause the same amount of difficulties. If the US switched from feet to meters, the problems would be quite distant. Changing from ounces to liters, on the other hand, would cause a greater volume of confusion. If we changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius, it would be more a matter of degrees.
